Always an honor to represent Kaleva. I am 100% Finn, and have been a Kaleva member since I was in high school, 1983 (41yrs). Mikkola, Wallila, Karvonen, and Klemitila are names of my ancestry.
There is still question if Alex Karvonen was related.
My great uncle Phil Karvonen spent his childhood in Belt, MT area and his father was Gust. Later moved to Red Lodge/Roberts area. When I was young, I always wondered why we took saunas and drank so much coffee. I have always prided myself on the characteristics of Finnish traits, ie. honesty, hard working, firm beliefs (stubbornness), and sisu. Oh, and good looking. Kaleva helps keep me on track of who I am and what we are about. I’m working on learning the language now. I am a proud Suomalainen and Brother at Arms of Grand Lodge
